The 2. Humboldt Bridge Builder organised by Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Charles University  took place on November 29-30, 2018 in Prague.

The Humboldt Bridge Builder aims to strengthen the links between Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and its international research alumni and cooperation partners that constitute the fundament of our academic connections worldwide. This year’s event was organized in cooperation with Charles University and supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. It brought together scholars from Humboldt-Universität and research alumni from various institutions across Central Europe.

‘Borders’ and ‘migration’ are the focus of this year’s Humboldt Bridge Builder. The topic, relevant for Central Europe in particular, was discussed under the headline “Crossing borders – Transnational border studies in Central Europe”. The event was supervised scientifically by Prof. Christian Voß (Head of Southern Slavonic Studies at the Department of Slavonic Studies, HU) and PhDr. Kateřina Králová, Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Russian and East European Studies, CU).

Select research alumni from countries participating in the CENTRAL network have been invited to join the two day programme.
