Lower Oder Valley National Park (Germany)
Lower Oder Valley National Park (Germany)
The Lower Oder Valley is located at the border between Germany and Poland and protects riverine habitats along the Oder river. The area hosts multiple aquatic and terrestrial species of conservation concern and constitutes one of Germany’s most intact Polder landscape. Pastoralism is used as a tool to achieve nature conservation goals within the national park. The adjacent area in Poland hosts a large and expanding population of bison; this species is expected to recolonize the national park in the near future.
