Data
The goal of TRANSMIT is to build a long-term oriented Data Infrastructure that allows researcher to study the border-crossing phenomena of migration and integration from a transnational perspective. The infrastructure includes both qualitative and quantitative data and includes various origin, destination and mixed-migration contexts. Data collections are split between the MENA and West Afrika Working Groups and cover Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Morocco, Italy, Nigeria, Senegal, the Gambia and Germany (s. Figure below)

Are you interested in working with TRANSMIT data? Explore our standardized survey data collections with our TRANSMIT Data Explorer. TRANSMIT Data from Turkey and Lebanon is available as SUFs to interested researchers upon application at the DeZIM.fdz (for details, see below). TRANSMIT Data for the West Africa route (Nigeria, Senegal, and the Gambia) is currently undergoing anonymization and will be published soon to a public repository. To access the restricted version (geo-coded), researchers should apply for access directly to the TRANSMIT West Africa team (see details below).
